When I first met Mike way back when and when we began the PERRY PARTNERSHIP back in 1994, he was always a gentleman and gave me an impression of honest person who wanted success for all.
After he moved to HQ out at Downer's Grove, we still maintained contact on a friendly basis.
Then, Mike became the CEO of FTD.COM which was treated as a seperate and distinct spin off of FTDI which begot the first IPO.
During that time, bob norton was the head hancho at FTD INC. and although we did try to work together, eventually the game of three card monte got tiring for many of us.
After the sale, bob went his way and Mike took overas the new CEO of FTD INC, a subsidiary of FTD HOLDINGS now owned by the Green Group.
Hitting the bricks to canvas the old customers is not a new ploy. small bob gave it a whirl too as he tried to figure out just why, some folks didn't love him or INC anymore.
Perhaps Mike is out there in his attempt to get that answer to, and drum up some old members?
In my own umble opinion, some folks just can't understand why any of us WEE BEES would ever leave a company who insists on competing against us and by whatever means neccessary to insure their FINANCIAL and PROFITABLE future success.
Had they only adopted a policy of THE EQUAL OPPORTUNITY of PROFITS for all, the world as THEY NOW KNOW IT, might've turned out much better.
FORE! TOTO and CORPORATE GREED can be a very unhealthly short term solution to a long range disaster. Even the Captain of the Titanic warned the rep from Star Lines that, FULL SPEED AHEAD to New York was not a good idea due to the WARNINGS of THOSE ICEBERGS in the North Atlantic.
